On September 17, the OSRAM IoT Awards 2019 were held – with esteemed guests from industry and the political arena in attendance. Through these awards, we aim to create a platform for IoT experts to exchange knowledge with each other.

The 2019 Award Winners
Four exceptional projects were recognized for their achievements in 2019 at this first conferring of the OSRAM IoT Awards.
Winner in the Category “IoT Analytics and AI”
The Munich-based start-up KONUX impressed with its solution for anticipatory maintenance for rail vehicles.
Winner in the Category “Building Automation”
The British start-up Pointr received the IoT Award for its indoor navigation system. It helps passengers at London’s Gatwick Airport get where they want to go as quickly as possible.
Winner in the Category “Smart Logistics and Industries”
With its project, the Munich-based start-up EcoG aims to make the charging of electric vehicles profitable. Its achievement was recognized with an IoT Award in 2019.
Winner in the Category „Young Leader“
Laura Tönnies, CEO and co-founder of corrux GmbH, has made it her mission to enable major building projects to be realized without delays.
Patron Dorothee Bär
Minister of State for Digitalisation and patron of the OSRAM IoT Awards Dorothee Bär personally conferred the award in the category “Young Leader”.

The Internet of Things – or IoT – is no longer just a vision of a fantastical future. This was evidenced clearly by the recipients of this first conferring of the OSRAM IoT Awards.
The four winners were recognized for their outstanding projects and achievements in the area of IoT. Some 80 guests from industry and the political arena attended the awards gala at the Meistersaal in Berlin.
With the IoT Awards, we want to not only make the topic of IoT more tangible, but also create an inspiring network platform for the sector’s trailblazers and digital pioneers.
A jury of six convened to choose the four winners of the OSRAM IoT Award on the basis of their impressive performance. All four winners showed through their projects what extraordinary possibilities the Internet of Things offers.
In the category “IoT Analytics and AI,” the Munich-based start-up KONUX was recognized for its novel solution in predictive maintenance for rail vehicles, which showcases an especially intelligent application of data.
The company Pointr impressed with its project at London’s Gatwick Airport. Thanks to its intelligent indoor navigation system, the British start-up was able to optimize the airport’s usage of commercial space. Their project received the IoT award in the “Building Automation” category.
The recipient of the “Smart Logistics and Industry” category award was the Munich-based start-up EcoG. With their hardware-independent software stack and operating system, they simplify the scaling up and integration of charging columns. Their aim is to make the charging of electric vehicles profitable.
Laura Tönnies was the award winner in the “Young Leader” category, which was conferred in person by German Minister of State for Digitalisation and patron of the OSRAM IoT Awards Dorothee Bär. As CEO and co-founder of corrux GmbH, at 24, Tönnies has made it her mission to enable major building projects to be realized without delays. Her solution supervises heavy construction machinery and indicates if they are operational or if downtime is imminent.
